Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA)
A QRA provides a numerical estimate of risk levels that may be used to compare against quantitative criteria. QRA are often conditions of consent for development of hazardous industries.
QRA combines frequency analysis with consequence modelling. Methods such as fault and event trees, or histroical leak frequencies are combined with discharge calculations, gas dispersion, fire and explosion analysis to develop an understanding of the likelihood of injury at specific locations.
Benefits of QRA include the ability to rank risk contributors, providing input into facility siting decisions, and assessing the impact of risk reduction measures.
Arriscar uses the commercially available software package Safeti v6.7 for most QRA.
