Passive Fire Protection (PFP) Optimisation

The potential exists for a jet fire or a pool fire to impinge/engulf on equipment or structural members and cause escalation. Arriscar can perform either a detailed heat up calculation for specific fire events or undertake an impingement/engulfment exceedance analysis to determine the equipment and structural members that may be vulnerable.

The objectives of the Fire Protection Analysis were to:

• Identify Passive Fire Protection (PFP) requirements
• Specify PFP ratings for identified elements, where applicable

Arriscar’s adopts a risk based approach to determining the PFP requirements for an installation to optimize the use of PFP while minimizing both the capital cost and the potential for introducing additional sources of corrosion (i.e. corrosion under PFP)
