Fault trees and event trees are some of the basic analyses that are needed for a QRA. They provide a graphic and quantitative estimate of likelihood.

Fault trees are used to develop an understanding of the contributors to the top event, using concepts such as AND and OR gates to determine the likelihood of a top event occurring. Event trees determine the likelihood of different outcomes following a specific event by assigning probabilities of success of failure to certain controls.

Arriscar uses Reliability Workbench for its fault tree and event tree analysis.
